After 42 very happy years in the house we were living in, my husband & I found that we dreaded the move to a similar, more easily managed property. The terrors began to diminish as soon as we met Martyn. We felt we could trust him to solve all the problems it presented; such was his friendliness, competence & professionalism. He was undaunted by our heavy antique furniture, the awkward ancient building, our precious glass & china, the huge quantity of books & even the fragile model boats. He seemed to welcome the challenge with enthusiasm.
As the appointed day arrived Elaine always listened patiently over the phone to my anxious enquiries (a sometimes panic). She was always reassuring & gave me much practical advice & help.
On medical advice I spent the day of the move elsewhere, but members of the family who were present were impressed by the calm patience & skill of the whole Near & Far team. Their quiet efficiency ensured that everything was always under control, & the whole operation went smoothly.
Afterward I had the joy of unpacking the beautiful wrapped china & glass & of taking out of boxes, my favourite books & ornaments. The treasures of life time had been safely delivered and had all survived. Miraculously so had we, thanks to you and your team.
